Stephen grew up in a seafaring family, he started sailing and building wooden boats at a young age with his father. His business life in the music industry was just a way to fund his sailing:- racing and cruising modern and traditional craft in the UK and abroad, including Atlantic crossings. The years and miles at sea have given him a deep understanding of what you need to know to safely play on boats. His teaching style is relaxed but thorough. Stephen is a Yachtmaster Ocean and after working full time at sea on a classic Gaff Cutter became a Yachtmaster Offshore Instructor. He now spends his time enjoying life, coaching sailing and cruising with his family.
Stephen’s favourite cake rich fruit cake! Or anything chocolatey!
Charles loves the great outdoors and is a true adventurer by heart. As well as modern cruising yachts he has skippered dipping lug cutters, tall ships, Thames barges, Dutch Tjalk barges, a gaff-rigged trawler as well as his own faerings and classic yachts, so his experience on the water is extensive. Charles delivers excellent tuition along with his great sense of fun and adventure.
Charles’s favourite cake is a classic wedge of Victoria sponge.
