For the past 48 years Jeanneau yachts have been a market leader in yacht design and boat building and continually balance time proven traditional craftsmanship with state of art technology and materials. Each new design must sail and perform in a variety of conditions and must be strong and safe in order to handle all that the sea can produce. Whether racing or cruising each vessel must comfortably fulfil its role, competitively and competently. Design philosophy also dictates that each yacht should be simple to build and to operate, with particular attention to ease of maintenance.
Strength and reliability are the cornerstones of Jeanneau's commitment to building high quality boats. Every aspect of the building process is driven by a multitude of quality systems as dictated by the internationally recognised ISO 14001 certification, awarded to just a handful of yacht manufacturers. Each hull is constructed completely by hand. To provide stiffness, a structural grid of laminated hard wood is used bonded directly to the hull. Vinylester® resin is used exclusively in the outer plies of the laminate to guard against the threat of osmosis. Kevlar® cloth is then added to high stress areas for additional strength and impact resistance. A unique Prisma® injection process, developed by Jeanneau, is employed on deck and coachroof mouldings, ensuring greater rigidity and superior finish.
Jeanneau has forged an enviable reputation for their level of craftsmanship and selection of timber for decks, bulkheads and interior furnishing. Embracing modern technologies such as computerised table saws and automated varnish application to enhance traditional techniques ensures beautiful and precise workmanship. In addition to the traditional hardwoods, Jeanneau's commitment to minimising damage to the environment has led to the development of Fine Teak®. Tested on prototypes over three years the process boasts excellent technical qualities and benefits from an even colour while preserving the beauty of the wood grain characteristic of classic teak.
